Speaking Opportunities

Speaking EngagementsI love sharing stories of Alaska’s colorful past with my audiences in speaking engagements.

From the giddy days of the 1898 gold-rush era to the Good Friday earthquake disaster in 1964, I strive to make my speaking engagements lively and interesting so no participants fall asleep.

I have spoken to a variety of groups over the past few years, including the University Kiwanis, Spenard Lion’s Club, The Prospectors Club, Business and Professional Women, and Red Hat associations.

I also offer longer presentations and design my speaking engagements around my clients needs.
For instance, I recently held a five-hour writers workshop for the Rio Grande Valley Byliners in Harlingen, Texas. Topics covered during this fun-filled session included writing tips, avenues for publishing books and articles and how to market one’s work. Excerpts from that workshop are presented in the video below.

Other motivational presentations include:

  • Life in remote Alaska
  • Find your passion/Changing careers at midlife
  • The writer’s life
